Shaun Wane has had football counterpart Gareth Southgate among his confidantes while trying to make the most of another Covid-ravaged international year.
Wane has taken charge of just one match since being appointed England boss in February last year, a home defeat to a Combined Nationals All Stars team this June.
Last season’s Ashes series with Australia was cancelled, before this year’s World Cup was postponed until 2022.
