Scotland's NHS is to remain on an emergency footing until at least March 31 next year, the Health Secretary has announced.

Humza Yousaf made the revelation in a written answer to SNP MSP Emma Harper, who asked if emergency measures would be extended beyond September 30, when they were due to expire.

The SNP minister confirmed the measures would be extended for another six months to allow for the health service to deal with the challenging winter period.
