BUYING clothes secondhand could prevent a whopping 12.5billion kilos of carbon from going into the atmosphere, research has found.
Oxfam's study found if all Brits bought half of their next wardrobe with cast-offs, the emissions saved would be the equivalent of a plane flying around the world 17,000 times.
