How do I protect a dear friend who is too trusting of new people?
I feel very protective of her because she had a tough start in life and has been hurt before.
She gets starstruck by big personalities. She allows herself to be swept along and invariably ends up ripped off, let down and disappointed.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had to pay off her debts and drag her away from unsuitable lovers.
She’s just started a new job and I can see the same old mistakes being made all over again. She’s rocked up in a media agency and, apparently, her new crowd are all creative, edgy types. My inner alarm bells are ringing.
She’s already gushing about her stroppy boss as if he’s the new saviour of the universe.
