Beach bum Dominic Raab furiously defended himself over his delay in coming back from holiday as Kabul fell to the Taliban.

He snapped and squirmed while being quizzed for two hours about his ill-timed break in Crete before the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Mr Raab insisted he had not been “asleep at the wheel” while the biggest foreign crisis faced by Britain in decades erupted.
