25% More Men Pass Drive Test

Gender stereotypes have been accused of hampering female drivers after a study found 25% more men than women pass their driving test.

Insurance broker for female drivers MissQuote.ie believes unconscious gender bias may be to blame for lower female pass rates.

Spokeswoman Deirdre McCarthy said: “The most recent driving test statistics show that in 2019, 98,493 men took the test and 55,876 passed – with an overall pass rate of 57%.
