The HSE is playing “Russian roulette” with the lives of severely disabled children by running a school with no therapists on-site, it was claimed yesterday.
They had been on campus at Carmona’s Special School in Glenageary, South Dublin, since 2002 but have been moved out, the father claims.
The HSE’s decision flew in the face of promises made to parents by Disablities Minister Anne Rabbitte.
Andrew Murnaghan, a pupil’s father and the parents’ representative at the school, said: “She met with parents in person at Carmona school in June and confirmed that the HSE had been instructed not to remove therapists from special schools.
