Towns braced for heavy rains as Status Orange alert issued

FLOOD WARNING

COMMUNITIES were braced for heavy rains overnight, with weather and road warnings in place.

Met Eireann issued a Status Orange rainfall alert for Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow at 5.30pm yesterday, which was in place until 6am this morning.

The warning followed spells of heavy rain across the country, with flooding expected.
