Felix Desjy sets the standard in the Grade 1 Racing Post Novice Chase, a feature of Leopardstown’s St Stephens’ Day card.

Gordon Elliott’s charge, the only Grade 1-winning hurdler in the six-strong line-up, has taken well to jumping fences and has already scored twice in the new discipline including a gutsy defeat of Sizing Pottsie in the Grade 2 Mongey Communications Novice Chase at Punchestown last month.

Spectacular when long odds-on for his chase debut, in a weak contest in Killarney in October, he bolted-up by 31 lengths.
