Peggy Morrissey died after the car she was driving crashed into a wall just outside of Annagh near Miltown Malbay in Co Clare in the early hours of Tuesday.Gardai and emergency services rushed to scene but the 91-year-old was pronounced dead.It is understood she was driving to a hotel to flee Storm Barra when the tragic crash happened.In her death notice, her only son, RTE sports commentator Marty, said he is grateful for people&#39;s support as he comes to term with her death.It said: &ldquo;The family would like to thank you for your sympathy and support at this difficult time.&rdquo;Mrs Morrissey will be reposing at St Mary&#39;s Church, Mullagh, Co Clare, tomorrow between 3pm and 6pm before her funeral mass at 2pm on Sunday.The Mass will take place in line with Covid-19 guidelines and she will be buried afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.Mrs Morrissey is survived by Marty and his partner Liz.
