Miss Offaly takes bull by the horns in videos to show her life as farmer

A Miss Ireland contestant is using her tiara to shatter the myth that girls can’t farm.

Miss Offaly Tiernan Maguire is flying the flag for female empowerment and ignores the men who slag her for farming.

Tiernan, 21, said: “People get shocked, they just wouldn’t expect it.

“People would just see loads of Miss Ireland stuff. When I tell them I’m a farmer from Offaly, they’re like, ‘What?’

“They say to me, ‘You don’t look like a farmer, so I’d like to break the stigma of what a farmer is.”

Her social media videos highlight life on the land.
