Futile comparing to other mums' ‘perfect' lives..

MAMMY envy and mammy guilt are one and the same – the belief that we are not doing a good enough job as parents plagues most of us.

Futile comparing to other mums' ‘perfect' lives..

In fact, you don’t even have to be a mammy to have it. I used to feel bad if I didn’t visit my nanas twice a week.

Envy and guilt are wasted emotions, but after becoming a mammy my kids often make me feel I don’t do enough.

And the envy of other families who seem to be nailing it bang on and getting it right every time pops into my head.

When I start comparing my life to others I know in my head it’s futile, but it’s hard not to.

I have a mixture of the mammy guilt and the envy at the moment, the feeling that time is not my own.

I see other mams at the school gate with eyeshadow on... where do they get the time?
