Grief turned my legs to jelly...but music's a healer

TRAD musician Sharon Shannon has revealed how her legs would buckle underneath her from the crippling pain she suffered when her partner died.

The accordion player, 52, said the grief following the sudden death of her boyfriend Leo Healy in 2008 was so unbearable it used to make her legs turn to jelly.

Speaking about the tragic loss of the 46-year-old, Sharon – who collaborated with Mundy for the hit track Galway Girl – said she slept on the couch beside his coffin in a bid to try to come to terms with her loss.
