However, it is still unclear how her maternity leave will work as there is no provision for it for members of the Dail.
The Justice Minister yesterday announced she and her husband are expecting their first child together.
The Fine Gael TD confirmed the pregnancy on social media, posting a picture of her and partner Paul Hickey’s Christmas stockings.
