Seven Galleries Come Together The Third Time To Give A Platform To Talented Artists
THE curator is buffoonish in his self-importance, The registrar looks overworked and exhausted, and the director nods off at his desk—Waswo X Waswo’s work ‘The Culture Keepers’ is a spoof on the forces of bureaucracy that maintain museums and institutions, and how they select what is collected and exhibited and preserved.
“Of course, all three are portrayed by the same model, myself, suggesting the monolithic groupthink of institutions. This triptych is meant to be humorous, but there is a sad reality to it as well," says the photographer and artist. Waswo’s ‘The Culture Keepers’ is part of the myriad artworks that will be showcased at the third edition of the Delhi Contemporary Art Week (DCAW) to be held between September 1 and 7. With seven galleries and 50 artists, the week-long showcase promises to have curated walks talks, workshops and much more. Spearheading a new wave of contemporary artists, the seven galleries include Blueprint 12, Gallery Espace, Exhibit 320, Latitude 28, Nature Morte, Shrine Empire and Vadehra Art Gallery.LADIES SPECIAL
