BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal on Friday said that the Indian cricket board is not pondering on the rescheduling of IPL 2020 as any decision on its fate will be taken only when cricket resumes.
IPL 2020, which was scheduled to start on March 29, was initially suspended until April 15. The Indian government had announced an initial 21-day lockdown as the Covid-19 pandemic brought normal lives to a grinding halt across the globe.
IPL 2020 is thus all set to miss the April-May window in the cramped cricket calendar which has been marked for the cash-rich T20 tournament ever since its inception in 2008.
“We haven’t planned anything as of now. We can’t think of IPL getting back yet,” Dhumal was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
