MANU Bhaker, Elavenil Valarivan and Divyansh Singh Pawar came out blazing to win a gold medal each in the ISSF World Cup finals in Putian, China on Thursday.
It was Manu who set the tone for the day by winning gold in the air pistol event. Considering the fact she has had a long year and plenty of competitions, Manu was fresh while competing.
She did not start too well in the prelim phase but cranked up well in the final. “She shot really well in the final, I am quite happy with it,” said coach Jaspal Rana. Manu shot 244.7 in the final while reigning Asian Games champion Wang Qian of China settled for bronze.
Manu said she is happy to have won her first ever World Cup finals medal. “I am happy to finish with a gold in the season finale,” she told MAIL TODAY.
