SCORES of returning holidaymakers were forced to leave Manchester Airport without their luggage and were told it would be delivered to them...next week.
Other travellers had to wait more than five hours for their suitcases and resorted to sleeping on the baggage carousel.
In a scene described as 'complete chaos' travellers say staff advised them the wait times would be so long they could leave without their bags and they would be sent to their home address. However, they were told it could be as long as three or four days before their luggage arrived.
It meant abandoned bags and prams began piling up around the baggage reclaim hall of the airport's newlyrefurbished Terminal 2 which several angry passengers have now said 'made a mockery' of security measures.
