Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) on Wednesday issued food safety certificate for prasad and food served at city&rsquo;s landmark Ganesha temple in Khajrana.According to senior food safety officer Manish Swami, FSSAI has initiated project BHOG (Blissful Hygienic Offering to God) to encourage all Places of Worship (PoW) to adopt and maintain food safety and hygiene in preparation of prasad.&bull; All the PoW that distribute&bull; prasad, including vendors that sell prasad in the vicinity of PoW are required to obtain FSSAI licence, registration. They will also need to follow sanitary and hygiene practices as per&bull; food safety&bull; and standard regulations.&ldquo;FSSAI has also prepared a guidance document on maintaining food safety and hygiene in PoW. We have followed the guidelines and provided training to prasad sellers. Khajrana&rsquo;s Ganesh temple is perhaps the second temple in state to get BHOG certificate after Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain,&rdquo; Swami added.
