TATTY flags flying on the Torpoint Ferry drew comparisons with the ghost ship the Black Pearl from The Pirates of the Caribbean films.
New flags for ferry after pirate ship jokes

The emblems flying on the three ferries crossing the River Tamar between Plymouth and Cornwall have been allowed to fall apart over months. Tattered rags were all that were left where once the emblem of Tamar Crossings proudly fluttered.

One passenger posted on a Torpoint community page: “Loving the remains of the flag on the ferry. It’s like being aboard the Black Pearl”.
