INDIANS were not alone in mourning the Sunday demise of the ‘Nightingale of India’ — legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. Tributes poured in from prominent figures and eminent personalities from across all spheres of life in other South Asian countries, reflecting her impact that transcended borders.
SOUTH ASIA MOURNS PASSING OF ‘QUEEN OF MUSIC'

Pakistani politicians, artists, cricketers and journalists mourned the death of Mangeshkar, terming it the “darkest day in the world of music”. While Prime Minister Imran Khan said the subcontinent has lost one of the truly great singers the world has known, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet that Mangeshkar’s death marked the end of an era in music.
