Rody to Pinoys: Emulate Ninoy's courage, patriotism

President Duterte advised the younger generation to be patriotic and courageous and emulate the heroism of former senator Benigno Aquino Jr. amid the coronavirus pandemic, during the commemoration yesterday of Aquino’s 37th death anniversary.

“Today, we honor the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr., whose life work and impact on governance have uplifted the lives of many, especially the oppressed and marginalized,” Duterte said.

In his one-page message commemorating Ninoy Aquino Day, the President stressed the importance of emulating Aquino’s courage and patriotism that comes with one’s discipline and social responsibility.

“As this important occasion is remembered during this time that we are facing a global public health crisis, may we emulate Ninoy’s courage and patriotism so we may all be heroes through acts of discipline, goodwill and social responsibility,” he said.
