Bid to serve papers but he was off to see Queen

PRINCE Andrew’s movements are being tracked by US lawyers intent on serving him court papers – in person.

Legal staff were waiting for him to go on a regular horse ride at Windsor Palace hours before sex abuse accusations were filed against him in New York.

They hoped to hand him the documents before news broke of the Manhattan move by accuser Virginia Giuffre’s team of lawyers.

But Andrew, 61 – who strongly denies sexual assault allegations, saying he has no recollection of ever meeting Virginia – had left to join the Queen at Balmoral.

A source said: “Virginia’s lawyers are under no illusions how difficult it is to get alongside the prince. They’ve been trying to speak to him for five years.
