New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau’s zonal director, Sameer Wankhede, will not oversee the drug bust case involving Aryan Khan any more as the bureau has formed a special investigation team (SIT) at its operations unit based in Delhi to investigate six cases — which the agency says have national and international ramifications — including that involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son.
“No officer or officers have been REMOVED from their present roles and they will continue to assist the operations branch investigation as required until any specific orders are issued to the contrary,” an official statement said.
It is reiterated that the NCBfunctions across India as a single integrated agency,” the official statement added, seeking to counter reports that Wankhede had been divested of the high-profile investigation.
