Hyderabad: Asserting that selling its own land was a prerogative of the government, the Telangana high court on Thursday refused to intervene in the auction of land parcels by the state.
A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili said this while disposing of a PIL filed by actress and BJP leader M Vijayashanti. The bench, however, directed the state government to follow a transparent method while auctioning the land plots.
The bench, in a separate PIL that questioned the state’s decision to raise constructions in Bison Polo and Gymkhana grounds, which are under the defence ministry’s control, however, restrained the state from going ahead with any works.
