For Paralympian SundarGurjar, who was a strong medal contender at the Rio Paralympics in 2016, everything fell apart when he missed the mandatory roll call before the throw and was disqualified. While his dreams were shattered in 2016, Sundar erased those haunting memories in style this time, as the 25-year-old javelin thrower bagged the bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympic Games (men’s F46 javelin throw category). Soon after the victory, he got a congratulatory call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sundar shares, “This victory has erased all the memories that have been haunting me since 2016. Finally, I got a medal at the Paralympics. I felt elated as I touched the medal and got to speak to Modiji, who congratulated me and appreciated my efforts.”
