Hyderabad: Most Covid-19 patients are reporting isolated symptoms of fever, cold or cough. Almost 90% of patients are having mild form of the disease, showing upper respiratory track involvement with cough or cold.
Also, the currently circulating Omicron variants seem to be not differentiating when it comes to the booster status, although the ones with the third jab are often asymptomatic, doctors said.
“Unlike the previous waves when most people had two or more symptoms, we are now seeing patients having isolated symptoms of only fever, only body aches or only cold for a day or two. Admissions are very few and are seen in patients having obesity, diabetes, lung problems, chronic kidney disease or any other severe comorbidity,” said Dr G Navodaya, consultant general medicine, Care Hospitals. The hospital is seeing up to 20 cases per day now, up from less than five cases a week back, he said.
