Mumbai: “The reasons for accepting the resignations of other ministers (Anil Deshmukh and Sanjay Rathod) were different. The reason for his (Malik’s) arrest is also to be considered. He has contested the manner in which the arrest was made, and his case is also coming up in the high court tomorrow and we will see what the decision is. At the moment, the CM feels there is no need to seek his resignation,” Ajit Pawar said.
His statement came on a day NCP president Sharad Pawar took stock of the political situation in the state in the wake of the opposition’s demand for Malik’s dismissal. Malik was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last week for allegedly carrying out money laundering for gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
