I hope the habit of watching films in theatres doesn't break: Vivek

While Vivek Anand Oberoi has several projects in the pipeline, many of his ventures were put on hold due to the second wave of the pandemic. Among the first Bollywood actors to venture into the webspace,he says that this medium has been a boon during this tough phase. But at the same time, he hopes that the glorious times of watching a film in the theatres will reign again. Excerpts from the chat:

The year 2021 was supposed to be a busy one for you as you turned producer last year. During the unlock mode in 2020, you even began shooting for your production venture. Did all the uncertainly around the movie business take a toll on you?

I was looking forward to this year. Who knew it would turn out to be like this! Actors like us, who started work between the first and the second wave of the coronavirus, are badly stuck. When you start a project, you commit money, dates, and resources, and when shooting gets stuck, the budget goes for a toss. So all we could do was surrender to the situation. Honestly, the excitement about turning producer with these projects has faded away. There were too many false starts that happened due to lockdown, ki film iss week shoot karenge, nahi next week shoot karenge.Aise karte karte bahut time beet gaya. Now I feel, jab hona hai tab hoga. So, I am focusing on more important things right now, like humanitarian work.
