Man Held For Child Porn, 700 Pics Of Minors Recovered

Mumbai: Bandra Kurla Complex cyber police have arrested a 20-year-old class XII dropout and resident of Gujarat on charges of child pornography, cyberstalking, hacking the Instagram accounts of minor girls and blackmailing them. Police said the accused coerced the victims into sending him their nude and semi-nude photos and videos. The accused has also been booked under the stringent Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. Police have recovered objectionable photos of more than 700 girls from him. “We are probing if he has sold any photo or video to porn websites or was planning to do so,” said an officer.

DCP Rashmi Karandikar said they launched a probe after getting complaints from parents of seven girls on September 4. “An FIR was registered and the accused, Alfaaz Jamani, was traced to Gujarat and subsequently brought to Mumbai. He was produced before a court and remanded in police custody till September 12,” Karandikar said.
