And in a role where most of your functions are reduced to the rather monotonuous cycle of feeding, cleaning, bathing, dressing, putting to bed and getting out of bed...these few joys can be a godsend and make you feel a little more human.

Social bonds are important and being able to hear from others that your bundle of joy appears adorable to more than just the ones who produced him, is validating in so many ways.
