Artist Gesine Marwedel takes us through her journey with art andtells us how bodypainting is more than just painting human bodies.
Bodypainting is one of the first and most original art forms. Previously used in traditional ceremonies, it is increasingly recognized as a modern art form. Bodypainting is not just painting on a living canvas; it is the transformation of a human being into a breathing, moving, living piece of art. Gesine Marwedel studied speech and creative therapy and is a world famous body painting artist. Her animal paintings, which transform a model into an animal while standing in an artistic position, have received international attention through her social networks. Her paintings are not limited to just animals, but she also paints landscapes, ornaments, abstract subjects or optical illusions. Gesine Marwedel has already published a book in Germany about “bodypainting and therapy” and has been published and given a special mention in several other (art-)books as well as in TV, newspapers and magazines. Her work is also presented in museums, galleries and art exhibitions across the world. You can find more of her work in her website: www.gesine-marwedel.de

Dried and Dusted
The West Bengal state of India has always been known for its rich culture and diversity. This innate taste and style is reflected in their dishes too. Their cuisine is essentially. A lot of its flavours and masala mixes have been handed down from over a thousand years and Bengalis to this day retain those recipes which make them truly “shonar Bangla” dishes.
