Alright, sure, it’s the apocalypse – no need to make a meal out of it

Cook Serve Delicious 3

Like most great cooking games, the Cook Serve Delicious series is only partly about food preparation. What it really aims to simulate is the adrenaline-fueled stress of a restaurant kitchen, the fight to keep up with hungry customers. Its new sequel looks even more deliciously nail-biting, sending your eatery on the road across a war-torn, near-future USA.

The leap to an apocalyptic sci-fi setting may seem a strange one, but the series has been laying the groundwork for years. “For a long time we’ve been quietly building the lore in CSD 1 and 2 via the in-game email system and food descriptions,” explains the game’s director David Galindo. “CSD 2 is a straightforward game in place and setting, or one would assume that unless they read the lore, where it was revealed the game was set in the future and massive wars were taking place. With CSD 3 your tower is literally destroyed and you’re faced with this huge world we’ve been building.”
