Very few detective games actually let you detect. With storylines ushering you along and evidence set out neatly in a trail for you to follow, they don’t give you many opportunities to do some real sleuthing. But Kaizen Game Works is changing that with its sun-kissed, tropical island mystery. Time to get out of those dark, dreary detective noirs and soak in some Vitamin D.
Paradise Killer has a refreshingly open-ended approach to detective work. Its freeform structure is bold but the freedom it gives you pays off in leaps and bounds. You solve the mystery in your own time and at your own pace. Interviewing suspects, collecting clues, checking alibis, deciding when it’s time to present your case to the judge, and even pinning the crime on the wrong person is all down to you.
