WHY I LOVE... MR X

“The T-00 is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear,

and it absolutely will not stop until it’s yanked out Leon’s intestines and used them as a jump rope.” I may have pilfered most of those words from The Terminator, but they absolutely apply to Resident Evil 2’s unstoppable stalker. Call him by his official Tyrant model number or ‘Mr X’ moniker, it matters not a jot. This single-minded monster is still going to murder your face. X, I got nothing but love for you… and maybe some poo.

Resi 2’s Big Bad is one of the great videogame villains. My puckered rectum is delighted Capcom decided to reboot him in such spine-tingling style for its masterful reboot. And seeing as we’re celebrating the best games of the year this issue, it would be rude not to give my favourite title of 2019 some X-shaped love. Sure, Mr X was scary back in the 32-bit original survival horror, but in the Xbox One remaster, his brutal brand of prowling is next level terrifying.
