Did you know that harnessing the powers of our mind, we can heal ourselves?
During many researches, patients have been given ineffective pseudo medicines for their illness and have found positive results from the medicines. Scientists refer to this as the placebo effect. How does this work? When the individual believes that the medicine will create some effects, the body's chemical mechanism must react to produce some results. The body will release a set of the feel-good hormones which can give a positive feeling about the whole thing. There are times the individuals were informed about the side effects of the medicines too. Surprisingly, they complained about the side effects too. What produces these effects? Our expectations or our beliefs?
In this context, the belief that the medicines will work is creating the results of what is expected. The next question which comes immediately to our mind is: “How does belief work?” Mahatria says, “The mind of the man is the man; the power of mind is in the power of the subconscious mind.” Yes! our subconscious mind has enormous hidden powers. Though we are not aware about that power completely, we are tapping that power and benefitting sometimes forever. Are you wondering how?
All of us have certain strong beliefs in almost all areas of life. When it comes to the body and illness, we do have specific beliefs…
“If I apply pain balm, things will settle down…”“My work is everything to me. If I go to work, I will be okay…”
“If I do my exercises, everything will become okay…”
“If I say affirmations, I will become alright…”
“Only allopathy works for me or only Ayurveda works for me…”
