Why does the world have such unrealistic expectations from women?
It is not always about 'him'; sometimes it is also about 'her'.
Having said that, what made me to jog my thought box and pen down an article? It all started with a forward message in our WhatsApp family group from one of my relatives titled 'Tips to look after your husband'. This message created a debate storm in our group. We had some heated arguments. The article was all about how to take care of husbands when they come back from office. What all a wife should do to keep her husband happy! So here is a glimpse of that message: have dinner ready, make yourself presentable, clear away the clutter, make him feel comfortable and do not start conversation with a complaint… so on and so forth… In crux, the article was all about how to make the home a place of peace and order where the husband can renew himself in body and spirit.
I was taken aback after reading such a misogynistic message and it took me a while to get back to my normal self and type a sensible reply for that message. And this was what I typed:

Dancer, choreographer and teacher of Bharatanatyam, Smt. Revathi Ramachandran's repertoire has taken her to stages PAN India, Europe and America. She is the only exponent of 'Sudha Nrittam', an ancient temple dance revived by her Guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer. She has been the recipient of many awards and accolades including the prestigious Kalaimamani award.Apart from her cultural achievements, this master's degree holder in Economics, has also captained the Tamil Nadu Women's' Basketball team in early 80s.
