Sarah Ewens is hoping her goals can help fire Celtic to success this season.
CELTIC return to action this weekend following the break for international football, and it’s a tough away game against Spartains.
Having kicked off the 2019 with an impressive 4-0 victory over Forfar Farmington, the Hoops suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Hibernian, but they bounced back with an emphatic 7-0 win over Dundee United in the League Cup.
Now the aim for Eddie Wolecki Black’s side is to get back to winning ways in the league, and while Spartans will be difficult opponents, confidence is high in the Celtic squad ahead of Sunday’s game.
Striker, Sarah Ewens will be hoping to get among the goals this weekend, though as long as the Hoops take all three points, she’ll be happy. The 26-year-old striker, who joined the club from Hibernian a couple of years ago, scored Celtic’s first competitive goal of the new campaign, netting against Forfar after just three minutes.
And she followed that up with a goal against Dundee United, scoring just after half-time to make it 4-0 for the Hoops.
Ahead of this Sunday’s game, the Celtic View caught up with the forward to get her thoughts on how the season has started.
What are your thoughts after the first three games of the season?
