James Forrest picked up the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year award but he’s looking to add more silverware to Celtic’s haul

WITH only two games remaining in the season, Celtic are now just one win away from a Treble Treble, a feat which would not have been feasible without the hefty contributions of some key players. In that regard, James Forrest is the Celt who has been held aloft for praise by his footballing peers who voted him as PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year.

Forrest and Callum McGregor were both among the nominees in this year’s shortlist for the accolade, and the awards ceremony earlier this month revealed Forrest had garnered the most votes from his fellow professionals.

The contributions from the Hoops midfielders this season has been incredible, and McGregor’s performances did not go unrecognised with the 25-year-old collecting the Celtic Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards one week earlier.

It’s been an incredibly long season for Celtic, especially Forrest who has also been a key feature of the Scotland national team, and within that time the 27-year-old has been consistently brilliant for club and country.

Celtic’s title-clinching 3-0 win away to Aberdeen recently was Forrest’s 55th competitive game for Celtic this season and his 61st such game when his international appearances are factored in.
