Jeremie Frimpong is working hard in training to improve his game and help benefit the team

CELTIC’S dominant win away to Motherwell looked more like the Celtic of recent seasons and will have left Neil Lennon pleased to see his players responding to his calls for improvements on the pitch.

Jeremie Frimpong has taken up that call to arms and has been staying behind after training to work on areas of his game which he believes can help the team.

The excellent performance against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the beginning of the month set expectations high for Celtic’s Europa League game against Sparta Prague last Thursday at Paradise, but the momentum was derailed by a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Czech side.

Celtic reversed that scoreline on Sunday at Fir Park with 4-1 win in the Scottish Premiership, when Mohamed Elyounoussi netted a hat-trick before Olivier Ntcham came off the bench to round off the scoring.

The performance was more becoming of a Celtic side who have dominated Scottish football for so long, but the champions will be cautious of not falling at the next hurdle, knowing they must replicate their most recent performance in the upcoming fixtures.

Frimpong knows that it is up to the players to find that consistency which has served the Hoops so well in the past.

“We played really well against Aberdeen at Hampden and got a good victory, so that showed the level of performance the team can put in,” the Dutch defender told the Celtic View. “That result gave everyone a lift and we need to keep doing that in every game going forward.
