CELTIC return to domestic action this weekend when they head to Tannadice to take on Dundee United.
It will be the first meeting between the sides since the 2015/16 season, with Dundee United having spent the past few seasons in the Championship. The sides have met each other on 191 previous occasions in the league, with the Hoops having won 110 of those clashes. United have enjoyed 35 victories, while there have been 46 draws.
The first meeting between the sides came back in 1925, given that Dundee United were not formed until 1909 – as Dundee Hibernian – while the most recent clash was in January 2016.
Last season, the Tannadice side were in impressive form throughout the campaign as they won the Championship and secured promotion back to the top flight, and they kicked off this season with a 1-1 draw at home to St Johnstone.
That was followed by a 1-0 win at Motherwell, with Mark Reynolds scoring the only goal of the game, though they lost their next game at home to Hibernian. And last Saturday, they beat Ross County 2-1 in Dingwall.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, we take a look at some previous meetings at Paradise, including the first ever meeting between the two at Celtic Park.
