A battle that did not involve the captain of the men’s team suddenly became about the men’s team. Under fire for her ambiguous handling and alleged interference with regard to the previous two coaches of the Indian women’s cricket team, Diana Edulji, former India captain and current Committee of Administrators (CoA) member sent off an email to Vinod Rai, the CoA chief, about the much speculated rift between the then captain, Virat Kohli, and then Indian team coach, Anil Kumble, which was obvious until finally the latter relented and resigned. The contents now leaked only confirm what had become a major bone of contention in 2017 midway through the year.
