Morrow making moves

For a guy who went undrafted and who has never really had a lock on a starting job, Nicholas Morrow might very well be the most important player on the Raiders defense this season.

The 25-year-old has started at three different positions, in addition to spending time on special teams, which was his original path to the NFL.

While Cory Littleton and others have struggled to pick up the nuances of Paul Guenther’s defense, Morrow has slipped in and kept moving, much like he has done throughout his career.

“I just think with his knowledge of the system now, his comfort in the system, he’s a guy who can play multiple spots for us. I just think he’s playing real confident right now,” Guenther said of Morrow, one of three players left over from the Raiders defense in 2018 when the former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator first came in. “He knows what to do. He can see formations and plays before it happens. The biggest thing he’s doing, he’s being a great communicator out there. He’s talking more, he’s alerting guys, he’s setting fronts and setting pressure for us. He’s only going to get better. I really like where he’s going.”
