Hong Kong-based GameSir is building an enviable reputation for quality gaming controllers for mobile devices; and this, an update to the respected GameSir X2 with Lightning or USB-C ports, might just be its best release yet.
Like other GameSir mobile phone gaming controllers, the X2BT (as we’ll call it), sandwiches your iPhone between two control panels. The body of the device stretches to accommodate a phone of up to 173mm, and springs back into place to hold it tightly. Your phone stays in place without wobbling or slipping out, even during the most vigorous gaming sessions, and unlike similar controllers that connect through their data ports, you can even leave your case in place while you play. It’s Bluetooth, so it’s not fussy about which iPhone you have, and it plays nicely with Apple Arcade and MFI titles. Also in the box is a USB-C charging cable (you get 20 hours on a full charge), and four optional covers for the analogue sticks. It even comes supplied with a neat travelling case to keep it in.
