Investigation is key to avoiding drowning in this particular eldritch horror
This Lovecraft-inspired game actually began life as the original Call Of Cthulhu, but due to creative differences with Focus Home Interactive, Frogwares parted ways with the publisher but continued developing its idea. Although the two games share the investigation-style gameplay, The Sinking City differs by being an open world title which includes combat elements.
Set in the 1920s, you play the role of Charles Reed, a private investigator who has found himself in the city of Oakmont to investigate the cause of its flooding. Our preview begins at the local library. One of the poor residents of Oakmont, Joy (who, bizarrely, has her lips sewn together), is afraid to return to her apartment because someone has broken in and she sends you to investigate.
