Even though Minecraft has gotten new monsters, new blocks, new biomes and even new planes of existence over the last ten years, some things have stayed consistent. And one of these golden rules I never thought would be broken is the fact that the world was 256 layers tall, from the depth of the deepest cavern to the highest point you could place a block. With the Caves and Cliffs update (part of which is already out and the rest is slated for later this year), that’s finally changing. A lot.
