The design standard set by the Apple iPhone X in 2017 has become the new look of all iPhones in 2018. The iPhone Xs Max is no exception, save for it being the largest iPhone ever made by taking the edge-to-edge display of the iPhone X to a larger 6.5-inch size. This one also has improved front and rear cameras, as well as a larger 512GB storage capacity.
Accessing the camera is quicker than before. The camera hardware has been revamped and is now better overall—especially for low light conditions, which was a deficiency of the iPhone X compared to Samsung or Google Pixel. Portrait mode is even better with the true-depth ability to select how much background blur to apply after the shot is taken. It has a tendency to over-process, which is like a forced skin-smoothing filter. Some users may mind this, others will find it weird. Apple will supposedly fix this in an upcoming software update.
