ROYAL HERITAGE HAVELI
There are places that pamper you with luxury. There are places that offer you days of calm and nights of fun. And then, there are places that welcome you with open arms, heal your weary self and let you leave with a beaming smile.
In the midst of the chaotic streets of Khatipura lie the splendours of Jaipur’s majestic past and the pretty as-an-old-picture boutique property of Royal Heritage Haveli (RHH) by Niraamaya Retreats. A garland of fresh marigold flowers, a tika on the forehead, and a warm smile and a welcome greeting by Shambhavi Singh, daughter of the royal family of Jaipur: “Padharo, welcome home”. The 300-year-old haveli, a former hunting lodge for the royal family, is spread across five acres of land, most of which is left to lush greens.
With a glass of watermelon and mint cooler in hand, I was escorted to my Heritage Premium Royal Suite alongside the pool. The glass door led to a super spacious room with marble flooring, dusted yellow walls adorned with hand-painted golden floral patterns and old-school marble pillars. One corner had a queen-sized bed paired with a rolled arm bench and a reading area (my favourite corner!). A dining area with assorted chocolates and fruits on the table, another cosy couch in a corner, a teak wood vintage style sofa set, an all-stocked minibar and a separate study space—the suite was tastefully done. Parted with a curtain was an expansive, well-lit vanity space with antiquated chest, a settee of similar taste and all necessary amenities. Picture this with chandelier lamps and old style ceiling fans. The suite spoke of royalty.
