Welcome to the floating palace Over its working life of 44 YEARS, this SLEEK YACHT became an ICONIC SYMBOL of the splendour of our ROYAL FAMILY and is now giving joy to an ever wider public.
ANYONE WHO HAS ever visited Scotland will know that it holds a multitude of tourist attractions, from stunning natural wonders, such as the majestic Highlands or the astonishing Great Glen, to the historic, man-made creations of Edinburgh and Glasgow. So, winning VisitScotland’s ‘Best Tourist Attraction’ award for 11 consecutive years (2006-16) and TripAdvisor’s ‘Best Attraction in UK’ (2015) represents quite an achievement for a static, decommissioned, mid-20th century former holiday-home, better known as the Royal Yacht Britannia. Visitor numbers are in excess of 300,000, per annum, and that is endorsement of the yacht’s continuing fascination.
