Conservation Week at Limpopo Field Guiding Academy
Wildside Magazine|January 2020
Limpopo Field Guiding Academy (LFGA) has long been recognised as a leading training provider for Field Guides in Southern Africa and, indeed, other African regions as well.
Conservation Week at Limpopo Field Guiding Academy

While the focus has historically been on students achieving qualifications as Nature Guides, we have always maintained a strong conservation ethic in our company and where possible, have been involved with hands-on conservation projects wherever we operate.

From humble beginnings in 2003, when LFGA was able to assist the Mabula Ground Hornbill Project with situational awareness training for their field monitors, to our West African training project in 2010 – LFGA was hands-on in the W National Park in Niger, where we were able to train eco-guards on tracking skills and at the same time, confirm the presence of leopard in the area. We have continued to have a hand in the conservation work ongoing at our host reserves – getting involved wherever we can with game census, monitoring, game capture and more.
